Job Description
JOB Performs technical work in the enforcement of ordinances regulating the keeping of animals within the City, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under moderate supervision. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Receives, investigates and answers complaints regarding stray, wild or owned animals that were reported at large, injured or abused.Patrols streets or other locations to check for animals running at large, licenses and vaccinations.Rescues trapped, lost or injured animals and investigates animal abuse complaints in the field. Issues appropriate warning notices and citations and makes court appearances.Keeps appropriate records and prepares reports.Returns animals to owners.Maintains animal control equipment and maintains surveillance over suspected animals confined to animal shelter.Clean shelter when needed.Other duties as assigned.Assists with walk-ins at the shelter, adoptions, and phone calls.All other duties as assigned.
