Position Title:Application & Verification Specialist Accountable To:Director, Ohio Professional Registry FSLA Status:Non-Exempt Date Revised:February 2024 JOB Summary:The Application & Verification Specialist will partner with the Director of the Ohio Professional Registry, the administration of credential, endorsement, certificate, instructor and training approval applications, and verification in accordance with each stakeholders requirements and with Ohio Approved policies.SUMMARY OF KEY Responsibilities:Credential, Certificate and Endorsement Approval:Review, approve, and troubleshoot credential, certificate, and endorsement applications according to established Ohio Professional Registry and state agencies policies within the stated timeframe.Provide verbal and written guidance to professionals who submit applications for credentials, certificates, and endorsements.Serve as primary subject matter expert on the OPR credential, certificate, and endorsement review and approval processes.Review and verify professional education, employment, and professional development event records according to established state agencies policies during the credentialling process.Create and participate in outreach activities to promote credentials, certificate, and endorsements.Test current and future applications for credentials, certificate, and endorsements.OPR System Support:Complete regression testing required for development code pushes and system enhancements.This includes specific testing of areas receiving new code and the documented testing program.Research profile information and provide necessary documentation for appeals as specified in the appeals process.Submit and monitor service desk tickets to complete resolution, determine trends, and make recommendations for process and development needs to the Director; communicate with the customer on resolution and provide written and verbal support.Track all application data and manage application reporting; support department reporting needs.Instructor and PD Event Approval:Review, approve, and troubleshoot Training Organization, Instructor, and PD Event application processing according to established professional development policies and procedures within the stated timeframe.Document application findings and provide written and verbal support to help those that submit applications, Training Organization, PD Events (schedule/manage) and Instructor applications when additional assistance is needed from the subject matter expert.Be a support to the subject matter expert on the OPR training/trainer approval process.Communicate with targeted users on instructor, PD Event information.Support asynchronous modules in Insight LMS.Performs additional duties as assigned by the Director of the Ohio Professional Registry or the Chief Executive Officer.CORE COMPETENCIES:Adaptable:applies knowledge to new circumstances Even Temperament:controls emotions without retaliating against negative behavior.Flexibility:adapts to changes while remaining focused on goals Initiative:remains proactive when suggesting improvements and solving problems Multi-Taking:comfortable juggling multiple projects and priorities Persistent:sees projects through to completion, persevering even when faced with barriers or obstacles Collaboration:works with and through others to achieve common goals and desired results Conflict Resolution:works to resolve differences and maintain work relationships.Effective Listening:builds understanding through listening to what others have to say and responding appropriately.Facilitative Communication:uses language effectively to gather information and facilitate an exchange of ideas.Interpersonal Relations:exhibits respect and understanding of others to maintain professional relationships.Persuasive Communication:displays verbal and written communication that influences others.Verbal Communication:speaks with clarity, precision, and purpose in small and large groups.Analytical Thinking:applies logic to solve problems and get the job done.Decision Making:makes decisions and takes responsibility for them.Forward Thinking:looks beyond immediate tasks to consider long-term impact; always considering what comes next.High Achiever:seeks to regularly surpass performance goals.Problem Solving:solves problems while ensuring rules and directives are followed.Results Driven:achieves goals in a timely manner while providing excellent client service.Supportive:seeks ways to support team efforts while contributing to overall organizational success.Client Service:responds to clients and proactively anticipates their needs.Training:implements professional development and training.Diversity and Inclusion fosters a diverse and respectful workplace where team members are valued for who they are.Ethics:sets a positive example for others by following high ethical standards Business Awareness:knows what we do and how we do it.Is aware of our competitors.Up to date with general b
