SAIC provides research, engineering, design, analysis, acquisition, development, integration, test, and operations support to the Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of War (DoW) customers. We support development and delivery of next generation and generation after next national security systems based on land, at sea, in air, and in space. The engineer sought here serves a USG Program Office leading Research & Development (R&D) of evolutionary, revolutionary, and transformational technologies and capabilities in support of the organization’s overhead architecture. This position provides Systems Engineering & Technical Advisory (SETA) support services. Job Description: Independently work across organizational lines to identify critical capability gaps to the organization’s future overhead systems Independently coordination and develop and integrated roadmap for key technology development activities with peer R&D organizations Independently review organizational strategy and policy documents to understand the organization’s strategic vision Independently support the identification and maturation of technologies/capabilities to mature the organization’s future overhead architecture Independently support the development of the organization’s integrated technology/capability roadmap Independently develop and maintain the organization’s technology roadmap. This involves development and integration of each of the organization’s portfolio roadmaps highlighting integration and transition points Independently review technical journals, conference proceedings, and on-line technology databases to deliver Quarterly Technology Assessment Report to the organization’s Technical Director. These Quarterly Technology Assessment Reports identify those technologies most aligned to the organization’s current and future R&D efforts. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Active TS/SCI clearance with Poly Must have bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or math discipline with minimum of nine (9) years of relevant work experience or seven (7) years with master’s degree Satellite and ground systems engineering expertise Demonstrated satellite or ground systems engineer expertise Proficient skills using Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) Critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills Interpersonal and communication skills for written reports, group discussion, and oral presentations Desired Qualifications: Knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience in one of more of the following: R&D of satellite ground technologies and systems System acquisition, design, development, integration, test, and/or flight operations Small Satellite (SmallSat) systems (single vehicles, clusters, and/or constellations) Supported organization’s R&D effort Experience working in an NRO SPO IC mission, organizations, disciplines, systems, and/or processes Acquisition support experience of 2+ years
