As an Appointment Access Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring patients receive timely care by managing appointment scheduling and addressing inquiries with empathy and professionalism. General Summary This role involves supporting patient access by efficiently handling incoming calls, providing accurate information, and assisting with appointment coordination. You will be a key point of contact, delivering respectful and compassionate service while maintaining precise documentation and meeting quality standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Promptly answer incoming calls, document and route messages appropriately. Assist patients with scheduling and provide clear, accurate information. Represent the organization professionally through phone, electronic, and written communication. Maintain accurate patient records in electronic systems to support continuity of care. Communicate detailed information clearly to ensure proper scheduling and follow-up. Resolve patient questions and concerns by identifying needs, offering solutions, and escalating issues when necessary. Utilize de-escalation and service recovery techniques to support distressed callers and maintain satisfaction. Contribute to call center performance goals and participate in ongoing training while ensuring confidentiality and HIPAA compliance. Education High school diploma or GED required. Post-secondary education in healthcare or related fields is preferred.
