POSITION SUMMARY: The Aquatics Weekend Supervisor supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. This part-time position supports the Aquatics team by providing weekend support through ensuring staffing needs are met, safety policies are adhered to, aquatic programs and operations are smooth and efficient, etc. OUR CULTURE: Our mission and core values are brought to life by our culture. BENEFITS: Free Y membership and discounted family membership Child Watch hours available free of charge ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provide oversight and support to weekend aquatic programs and staff Step in to provide lifeguarding or instruction coverage in case of emergency absences (not on-call for pre-arranged substitutions) Maintain appropriate lifeguard-to-patron ratios (1:25) Acting as a supplemental guard when needed Perform basic administrative tasks, such as recording and entering pool chemical readings as well as monitoring and replenishing supplies (e.g., Pool Schedules and other lobby materials) Ensure adherence to safety procedures and high-quality service standards Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations. Obtain and maintain required training(s). Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Current Lifeguard certification required Instructor training/certification required Strong time management and problem-solving skills Reliable transportation Leadership ability and willingness to step in when needed SALARY: Minimum starting rate of $16 an hour Starting rate based on experience SCHEDULE: Part-time Weekend hours rotating from Friday at 6pm to Sunday at 6pm Hours based on operational need and subject to change WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
