Project Overview The rapid growth of AI and digitalization is fueling unprecedented demand for data centers that require large, reliable sources of energy. In response to this market trend, the Renewables & Clean Power (R&CP) team have signed an early works contract to build one of the largest gas fired power generation facilities in the U.S. The Project is of significant scale and complexity, and our team is helping the customer progress with early-stage development, that would lead to the start of full EPC delivery this year. The candidate will act as the Area Superintendentfor the Combined Cycle portion on the upcoming Project. The candidate may start in the home office in Reston or Cheyenne, Wyoming, as single status, to support preconstruction planning, ahead of project mobilization to the field. This position is contingent upon project awards. Job Summary The Area Superintendentis responsible for supervising and directing craft operations within the combined cycle area. Will supervise and direct Craft activities, subordinate superintendents and others, as assigned. Will ensure assigned construction operations and subcontractors performance is following specifications and within schedules and budget. Will perform general functions inherent in all supervisory field positions. Major Responsibilities Leadership / Supervision Supervises and directs craft activities, subordinate superintendents, and others, as assigned. (Direct Hire) Schedules work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by each craft. (Direct Hire) Planning / Productivity Determines workforce requirements. Coordinates established area operational plans. Tools, Materials & Equipment Oversees tool and equipment usage on the site. Manages the preparation of Field Material Requisitions for tools and consumables and ensures that the craft professionals have the tools they require to be productive. Safety & Quality Ensures the most current design document is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation. Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors’ performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets. Technical Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents Manages engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals. Education And Experience Requirements Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management or other relevant technical disciplines from an accredited university (or international equivalent), plus a minimum of 10+ years of relevant work experience; or 14+ years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree. Experience in field supervision of direct hire union workers. Required Knowledge And Skills Takes actions necessary to meet project budget and schedule requirements. Experience in Combined Cycle power projects will be given priority. Demonstrated knowledge of construction engineering practices related to all disciplines. Coordinates the Construction Completion Walkdowns and supervises the close out of all punch list items. Assists the Area Manager with client interface and relations. Reviews equipment rental
