Area Lifeguard

Join our team this summer at High Sierra Pools! We are currently looking for area lifeguards to join our Herndon area team.Our rates for certified lifeguards are among the highest in the industry! If you've got good swimming skills and are looking for a fun summer job where you can make a difference in your community, this is the job for you.Flexible summer/seasonal schedules are available including full-time, part-time, and weekend-only work.An Area Lifeguard doesn't have a regular weekly schedule and a permanently assigned location.Instead, an Area Lifeguard will be scheduled at multiple worksites situated within a 15 mi radius of their home address.Lifeguard Duties and Responsibilities:Opening and closing the pool each day according to the scheduled hours Regularly treating the pool with the correct amount of chemicals Closely monitoring activities related to the pool area, identifying any safety issues throughout the shift Directing swimmers out of water in dangerous conditions Closely monitoring weather reports to make sure guests remain safe Organizing and overseeing pool parties Providing swim lessons and coaching the swim team (when applicable) Maintaining a clean pool environment Lifeguard Skills and Qualifications:Valid Lifeguarding/First Aid, CPR-AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens certificate Must be at least 16 years of age (limited positions are available for 15 years old applicants) Must be able to pass ARC Lifeguarding or Shallow Water lifeguarding certification class Positive attitude:ready to help others and solve challenges Dependable and reliable Successful completion of a pre-employment in-water practical skills test Must be able to pass a background check and drug testing if required A few more job perks:Competitive pay based on experience, availability, position, and pool- up to $19.50/hour Advancement opportunities Flexible shifts - work part-time, full-time, or weekends-only.Hours are typically midday, but some pools offer split shifts Work with friends and get paid for it!
