Job Summary: Provide patient- and family-centered respiratory care within a supportive environment that upholds best practices and professional standards. Demonstrate expertise in respiratory therapy assessments, treatment modalities, life support certifications, critical thinking, and prioritization. Commit to ongoing professional development and educational growth. Essential Responsibilities: Assessment a. Conduct comprehensive, age-specific assessments and reassessments. b. Collaborate with family, significant others, and healthcare providers to gather complete medical histories and document findings per unit policy. Diagnosis a. Identify actual or potential physical, psychosocial, cultural, religious, safety, infection control, environmental, and educational needs. b. Prioritize patient care based on assessment results. c. Interpret findings to prepare patient and family care and education plans. Planning/Outcome a. Work with healthcare team members on care plans and discharge or transfer strategies. b. Develop individualized care and education plans following standards of practice to achieve optimal outcomes. c. Adjust plans based on patient physical and emotional changes and input from patients and families. Implementation a. Deliver age-appropriate care aligned with the care plan and patient priorities. b. Apply evidence-based interventions tailored to diagnoses. c. Utilize community resources to support care plans and coordinate access. d. Collaborate with caregivers to execute care plans.
