Job Summary: As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, you will play a vital role in supporting patients, healthcare providers, and colleagues by delivering precise, timely, and courteous laboratory test results. Your expertise will ensure that complex and routine analyses on body fluids are performed with strict adherence to technical protocols. You will maintain compliance with all regulatory standards, including CLIA, CAP, and OSHA, with a strong emphasis on quality control and instrument upkeep. Key Responsibilities Adhere to all regulatory requirements and maintain high standards of laboratory practice. Conduct routine and advanced laboratory procedures to provide accurate and prompt results. Perform and assess quality control measures to guarantee reliable patient outcomes. Troubleshoot and maintain laboratory instruments to ensure optimal performance. Analyze test results critically to detect potential errors. Foster a collaborative and positive team environment. Manage multiple tasks efficiently to meet departmental goals. Deliver excellent customer service internally and externally, including professional phone communication. Utilize computer systems for email, spreadsheets, and patient record management. Understand and comply with infection control, safety, data security, and patient privacy regulations. Communicate departmental needs and challenges to management. Identify and address issues that could impact test accuracy or reporting. Participate in additional duties as assigned. Education Bachelor's Degree required; preferred majors include Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) or Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS). Alternate acceptable degrees: Biology, Chemistry, or Microbiology, typically supplemented by a one-year post-baccalaureate clinical program for certification eligibility.
