This role involves performing clinical testing across various disciplines including hematology, immunology, microbiology, clinical microscopy, chemistry, coagulation, and blood banking, all while adhering to strict regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities: Accurately perform and verify routine and esoteric laboratory tests with minimal supervision. Manage reagent preparation and analyzer troubleshooting efficiently. Conduct quality control procedures consistently, documenting any failures and corrective actions. Prioritize workload to meet testing requests promptly and maintain department productivity. Communicate critical results to healthcare providers promptly and document accordingly. Assist in training new staff and updating procedural manuals to ensure compliance and competency. Perform ongoing assessments of specimen quality and troubleshoot issues for both in-house and reference testing. Education: Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or a related scientific field is required. Experience: No prior experience required for registered Medical Lab Scientists; non-registered candidates should have at least one year of clinical laboratory experience. Certification/License: Must hold MT, MLS, M, C, H, or BB certification and meet CMS technical supervisor requirements. Mental and Physical Requirements: This role demands close mental and visual attention for extended periods, the ability to work under time-sensitive and stressful conditions, and physical capability to lift up to 20 lbs.
