Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings.Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.A certified Sign Language Interpreter is needed to provide interpretation services for K-12 educational settings within the Fresno, CA area.This contract position supports students and staff by facilitating clear communication through American Sign Language (ASL) during the school calendar year.The role requires on-site availability with assignments spanning multiple schools within the district, focusing on delivering high-quality interpretation to ensure equal access to education for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.Key Responsibilities:Provide accurate and effective ASL interpretation during classroom instruction, meetings, and school activities.Work collaboratively with teachers, students, and support staff to facilitate communication.Ensure adherence to confidentiality and professional ethical standards.Adapt to varying classroom environments and student needs.Maintain regular communication with school personnel regarding assignment details.Qualifications:National Certification in Sign Language Interpreting is required.Must hold at least one of the following:EIPA score of 4.0 or higher Registered Interpreter of the Deaf (RID) Membership Educational Sign Skills Evaluation- Interpreter and Receptive (ESSE-I/R) Successful NAD/ACCI national assessment.Experience working in educational settings preferred.Ability to work on-site across multiple schools as assigned.Strong commitment to fostering inclusive learning environments.Location:Assignments based in Fresno, CA, within the K-12 school system.Benefits & Perks:Competitive pay rates based on experience level.Per diem hours providing scheduling flexibility.Opportunity to support diverse student populations.Contract runs through June 11, 2026, with potential for extension.This position begins ASAP with a duration through the school year.Professional interpreters passionate about enhancing educational access are encouraged to apply promptly for consideration.Submit your credentials to be connected with this rewarding educational interpreting opportunity.Compensation for this position ranges from $24.69 to $54.69.Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals.Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here.This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.#cjp.
