About the Organization The Police Athletic League (or PAL) is New York City's largest independent youth development organization. We operate diverse programs from Head Start, Day Car and Universal Pre-K programs; to elementary and middle school after-school programs, summer day camps and summer Playstreets. We run evening teen centers and college readiness programs, as well as youth employment and juvenile justice programs. In its over a century of service, PAL is continuing its evolution and remains a vibrant and vital New York City institution. Position Summary The Assistant Baseball League Coach supports the Head Coach in delivering a high-quality high school baseball program. This role assists with practices, games, and team activities while mentoring adolescent players and promoting teamwork, skill development, and good sportsmanship in a positive, inclusive environment. The ideal candidate enjoys working with middle school-aged youth, understands the fundamentals of baseball, and is eager to support player development and team success. Pay & Commitment: $18.00 per hour. Availability to work consistently for the full 21-week season 4-hour shifts, 2 days per week Where: Armory Center - Police Athletic League, Inc. Core Responsibilities Coaching Support & Player Development Assist the Head Coach during practices and games Support instruction of baseball fundamentals and skill development Provide encouragement and positive reinforcement to players Model appropriate behavior, teamwork, and sportsmanship Team & Program Support Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful team environment Supervise players during drills, transitions, and downtime Assist with setup, breakdown, and care of equipment <
