Job Description
OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Bookkeeper specializing in Property Management to support our accounting team.This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, utilizing advanced accounting software and principles.The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, a solid understanding of financial concepts, property management trust accounting, and experience in various accounting functions including general ledger management, reconciliations, and financial reporting.Prior exposure to property management accounting is a plus.This role is a year-round position based in downtown Livingston, Montana, just 30 minutes from Bozeman.In-office position in a brand new hip & centrally located company building.Duties Assist with maintaining accurate financial records for property management portfolios using accounting software such as Buildium, QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and others.Experience with BUILDIUM PM software a plus.Perform bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, and general ledger reconciliations to ensure data integrity Prepare and post journal entries, including debits & credits, to reflect financial transactions accurately Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently Support budgeting activities and assist in financial report writing for internal and external stakeholders Ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards Handle payroll processing and related tax filings as required Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis to identify discrepancies or anomalies Assist with governmental accounting requirements and non-profit or corporate accounting procedures as needed Maintain organized records of all financial transactions and documentation for audit readiness Skills Proficiency in accounting software such as Buildium, QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, and other financial tools Strong understanding of GAAP, double entry bookkeeping, general ledger accounting, and financial concepts Experience with bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliation Knowledge of accounts payable/receivable processes, payroll management, and tax experience.Google drive proficiency is strongly preferred.Ability to perform detailed account analysis and general ledger reconciliation accurately Familiarity with governmental accounting standards and non-profit or corporate accounting practices Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in financial report writing and account analysis 10 key typing skills for data entry accuracy Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and external auditors This position provides an engaging environment for professionals seeking growth in property management accounting while utilizing their technical expertise in a supportive team setting.Compensation Independent contractor role.Candidate must have an IC/WC exemption from the state of MT, E & O insurance, etc.Our company can assist in this process.$25-$30/hr DOE bonuses & commissions Pay:$25.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours:20.0 - 35.0 per week Benefits:Flexible schedule Professional development assistance Work Location:In person.
