Currently mid-sized but expanding rapidly, the organization is professionalizing its global footprint with strategic plans to go public (IPO) in the future. We are seeking a financial "rock star" to step into a high-visibility leadership role. This position is designed for an ambitious professional with a blend of public and private accounting experience who thrives on complexity and wants to partner with a highly sophisticated VP of Finance. The Role This Assistant Corporate Controller position is a streamlined, high-impact technical role. It focuses on the strategic consolidation of the parent company and its subsidiaries, corporate governance, and financial integrity. You will be the architect of the monthly close and a key driver of process improvements as the company prepares for its transition to the public markets. Key Responsibilities Corporate Consolidations: Lead the complex month-end consolidation process for the parent company and all subsidiaries, ensuring accuracy in intercompany eliminations and total-entity financial integrity. Financial Reporting & Analysis: Perform high-level financial analysis to support statement reporting, variance explanations, and the monitoring of key financial ratios to provide actionable recommendations to management. Serve as the primary point of contact for annual financial statement audits. Ensure all audit recommendations are assessed and implemented while helping build the reporting framework required for future public filings. Ensure financial control processes are robust, effective, and consistent with Company guidelines to mitigate risk and ensure scalability during rapid growth. Support cost accounting and inventory accounting reporting and analysis, serving as a critical backup and strategic partner to the primary operational leads. Continually drive resolution to issues and collaboratively make improvements to the financial reporting cycle to enhance cross-functional transparency. What You Bring to the Table We are looking for a candidate who understands the "why" behind the numbers and has the technical rigor to navigate a PE-to-Public transition. Public/Private Background: A foundational public accounting background followed by experience in a corporate manufacturing environment is highly preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (CPA strongly preferred). 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2+ years leading a function or a high-level consolidation/reporting process. Deep knowledge of US GAAP, consolidations, and the intricacies of a manufacturing environment (inventory and cost accounting). Extensive experience with ERP systems and advanced MS Excel skills. We prefer that you are based in the Northeast US to align with the leadership team’s regional footprint in the Philadelphia area. Why This Role? This is a rare "builder" role. You aren't stepping into a stagnant department; you are joining a mission-driven organization at its most exciting inflection point. You will have a front-row seat to a PE-to-Public transition, mentored by a brilliant finance leader who values your input and professional growth. If you want to move beyond the routine and lead the financial architecture of a market leader, this is the career-defining move you’ve been looking for.
