Job Description
Position Summary The Assistant Director serves as the operational and people leader of the Early Learning Academy, ensuring excellence in daily execution while cultivating a strong, healthy, and mission-aligned team culture. This role is responsible for staffing, compliance, and center flow, while also leading key human resource functions including recruiting, onboarding, employee engagement, performance management, and retention. The Assistant Director plays a critical role in building a positive, accountable, and high-performing work environment that reflects the values of Bridge Pointe Church—fostering a culture where staff feel supported, families feel confident, and children thrive. Key Responsibilities Operations & Center Management Manage daily staffing, scheduling, and classroom ratios to ensure full compliance Oversee center flow, transitions, and classroom coverage to maintain consistency and quality Step into classrooms as needed to support operations and maintain ratios Ensure classrooms are fully prepared, staffed, and operating effectively each day People & Culture Leadership (HR Focus) Lead recruiting efforts including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and hiring staff Own onboarding experience to ensure new hires are welcomed, trained, and set up for success Maintain accurate and compliant employee files, training records, and documentation Support and reinforce a positive workplace culture aligned with the church’s mission and values Serve as a first point of contact for employee relations, addressing concerns with professionalism and care Drive staff engagement, morale, and retention initiatives Partner with the Director on staffing strategy, workforce planning, and succession development Promote accountability while maintaining a supportive and growth-oriented environment Performance Management & Staff Development Support performance evaluations, coaching, and corrective action when needed Provide real-time feedback and coaching to improve staff effectiveness Identify training needs and support professional development opportunities Reinforce expectations around professionalism, classroom quality, and teamwork Help develop future leaders within the program Compliance & Risk Management Support full compliance with Georgia DECAL licensing requirements Maintain documentation for staff qualifications, training, and ratios Assist with inspections, audits, and regulatory visits Ensure adherence to safety policies, incident reporting, and emergency procedures Curriculum & Classroom Quality Support curriculum implementation and classroom consistency Conduct informal classroom observations and provide feedback Partner with Lead Teachers to improve instructional quality and engagement Family Engagement & Enrollment Support Support parent communication, tours, and enrollment conversations Help resolve parent concerns in a timely and professional manner Contribute to a welcoming, relationship-driven environment for families Administrative & Operational Support Assist with reporting, scheduling, payroll coordination, and purchasing Support operational systems and organizational processes Ensure strong communication across staff, leadership, and families Qualifications Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Human Resources, or related field preferred 3–5 years of experience in early childhood education or childcare operations Prior leadership, supervisory, or HR-related experience strongly preferred Working knowledge of Georgia DECAL licensing requirements Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability to lead people, manage conflict, and build positive team culture Spanish-speaking ability is a plus Alignment with the mission, vision, and values of Bridge Pointe Church Physical Requirements Ability to lift 25–30 pounds Ability to move throughout the facility and actively support classrooms Ability to supervise children indoors and outdoors as needed Work Environment Church-based early learning center Fast-paced, people-centered environment requiring strong leadership and adaptability High emphasis on teamwork, culture, accountability, and care Schedule Full-time (flexibility re
