Overview A global insurance firm is seeking an Assistant Director within Investment Accounting to support a multi-billion-dollar portfolio across various asset classes. This is a high-visibility role within corporate finance, partnering with accounting, FP&A, and investment teams. Key Responsibilities Oversee accounting and reporting for a diversified investment portfolio (fixed income, equities, alternatives, loans, derivatives) Manage monthly and quarterly close processes across multiple entities Support GAAP and STAT reporting, including SEC filings and regulatory disclosures Review and prepare investment-related footnotes and financial statement disclosures Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate accounting for new investment transactions Lead process improvements, automation initiatives, and strengthen internal controls Support implementation of new accounting standards and systems Coordinate with auditors and support internal/external audit processes Perform analytics and provide insights on investment-related results Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 10+ years of experience in investment accounting, reporting, or related field Strong knowledge of GAAP and statutory (NAIC) reporting Experience with complex investment products (fixed income, equity, alternatives, derivatives) Exposure to SEC reporting (10-K, 10-Q) preferred Advanced Excel skills; experience with investment systems (e.g., Aladdin, PAM) a plus Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, regulated environment
