Job Description
Responsibilities Assist the Revenue Cycle Director in aligning revenue operations with organizational financial goals, RBC and HSD leadership direction, and division priorities. Participate in evaluating financial strategies for existing and emerging programs, providing data and analysis to support decision making. Support adherence to financial policies, revenue regulations, and compliance standards. Lead assigned projects, escalate barriers to leadership, and support projects through to completion. Provide day-to-day oversight of assigned revenue cycle areas (coding, billing, A/R, denials, registration, patient advocates, purchased referred care, HIPAA compliance, Special Funds, Medical Records, and Health Information Management. HIM. Monitor department performance metrics; identify workflow issues and recommend improvements to the Director. Assist with implementation and optimization of electronic health records, practice management, revenue cycle management and patient engagement systems. Ensure timely and accurate financial and operational reporting, draft reports for Director review. Assist in developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures for the Revenue Cycle teams. Collaborate with Quality Assurance to support Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives and accreditation compliance. Assist in coaching, mentoring, and developing revenue cycle and registration teams. Participate in recruitment for revenue cycle positions; recommend hiring decisions to the Director. Serve as acting leadership for the department in the Director’s absence as directed. Maintain regular communication with clinical and operational departments to resolve revenue cycle barriers. Support process improvement and change management initiatives led by the Director. Assist in external communication with auditors, vendors, and payers as directed. Prepare financial analyses and reports in support of budget planning, forecasting, grants and new initiatives. Support cash flow improvement projects and assist in monitoring KPIs across all revenue cycle domains. Support patient financial program compliance monitoring and assist with policy interpretation. Maintain high standards of confidentiality, HIPAA compliance, and professional conduct. Ensures confidentiality of financial records and all records for employees and/or clients. Qualifications Valid Driver’s License issued in the US is required. Master’s degree with major in healthcare administration or health information management or related field with 5 years of experience in revenue cycle OR a bachelor’s degree with major in healthcare administration or health information management with 7 years of experience in revenue cycle required. Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or management experience. Professional Credentials such as RHIA, RHIT, CHRI, CSS, CPC are required. Strong working knowledge of healthcare billing, coding, A/R, denial management, payers, and regulatory requirements. Experience with EHR, practice management, and claims systems required. Strong communication, analytical, and multitasking abilities. Ability to work independently but within an established leadership structure. Prior experience working with Indian Health Services (IHS) or Tribal Organizations is preferred. Knowledge of computer applications to include word processing, databases and/or data entry, Spreadsheets, and Microsoft Outlook is required. Knowledge of Native American communities, culture, customs, and beliefs is preferred.
