Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Assistant General Manager to join our retail management team. In this pivotal role, you will support the overall operations of the store, ensuring exceptional customer service, efficient inventory management, and team leadership. Your energetic approach and strong organizational skills will help drive sales, optimize store performance, and foster a positive shopping environment. Duties Assist in managing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and POS (Point of Sale) system oversight Support recruitment efforts by participating in interviewing, employee orientation, and onboarding processes for new staff members Supervise and motivate team members to achieve sales goals through effective training, coaching, and performance management Oversee inventory control, stock replenishment, merchandising, and pricing strategies to maximize sales opportunities Ensure excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries, resolving complaints promptly, and maintaining high standards of phone etiquette and communication skills Coordinate marketing initiatives and promotional activities to boost store visibility and sales performance Manage payroll processing, bookkeeping tasks, and assist with budgeting to maintain financial health of the store Supervise shift management duties including scheduling staff shifts, monitoring retail math accuracy, and ensuring smooth daily operations Implement employee training & development programs to enhance team skills in retail sales, cashiering, wireless sales, grocery store procedures, and store management Qualifications Proven experience in assistant manager or supervisory roles within retail environments with a focus on store management or grocery stores Strong leadership abilities combined with excellent communication skills and organizational aptitude Demonstrated expertise in negotiation, recruiting, interviewing, employee orientation, and training & development Multilingual or bilingual capabilities are highly desirable to serve diverse customer bases effectively Proficiency in inventory management systems, POS technology, cash handling procedures, and retail math calculations Knowledge of merchandising techniques, pricing strategies, marketing initiatives, and inventory control practices Experience with payroll processing, bookkeeping tasks, budgeting, and administrative responsibilities Supervising experience that highlights team management skills across shifts with a focus on customer service excellence Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in fast-paced environments Join us as an Assistant General Manager where your leadership will inspire teams to deliver outstanding service while driving store success.
