Job SummaryWe are seeking a dynamic and motivated Assistant Grocery Store Manager to join our vibrant retail team.In this role, you will support the store management in overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining efficient store functions.Your leadership will help create a welcoming shopping environment, drive sales, and foster a collaborative team atmosphere.This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about retail management, eager to develop their skills, and committed to delivering outstanding grocery shopping experiences.Responsibilities Assist in managing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, inventory control, and merchandising Supervise and motivate team members to deliver excellent customer service while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization Oversee inventory management processes such as stocking, ordering, purchasing, and stock rotation to ensure product availability and freshness Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and ensure a positive shopping experience for all customers Support hiring efforts through interviewing candidates, participating in employee orientation, and assisting with training & development programs Manage cash handling procedures including cashiering, POS (Point of Sale) system operations, and balancing registers accurately Contribute to sales management by implementing marketing strategies, pricing adjustments, and promotional activities to boost store performance Assist with payroll processing, bookkeeping tasks, budgeting activities, and administrative duties to ensure smooth store operations Enforce store policies related to safety, security, and compliance while supervising staff shift management and scheduling Experience Proven supervisory or assistant manager experience within a grocery store or retail environment Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively and foster a collaborative work culture Demonstrated expertise in inventory management, merchandising, and retail math principles Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases Experience with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and retail sales operations Knowledge of purchasing strategies, pricing techniques, and marketing initiatives in a grocery setting Skilled in employee training & development, interviewing candidates, and managing employee orientation programs Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment Familiarity with budgeting processes, payroll administration, bookkeeping practices, and administrative responsibilities Join us as an Assistant Grocery Store Manager where your energy drives success!
