Job Description: BHL Federal is seeking an Assistant Head of Construction to support the execution of residential construction projects under federal and disaster recovery programs. This role partners closely with the Head of Construction to coordinate field operations, manage project progress, and ensure successful delivery from construction start through closeout. This position requires strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, multi-project environment. Responsibilities: Construction Operations Support day-to-day construction activities and assist in resolving field and project issues as they arise Maintain and monitor project schedules, ensuring alignment across teams and key milestones Track project progress and proactively identify risks, delays, or gaps in execution Coordination & Communication Serve as a primary liaison between internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders Provide regular project updates, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely communication Support coordination between office and field teams to maintain project momentum Scheduling & Execution Coordinate inspections, site activities, and critical project milestones Work closely with Superintendents to ensure projects are properly sequenced, staffed, and documented Support readiness for inspections, turnover, and key construction phases Documentation & Closeout Oversee project documentation to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with program requirements Track inspection status, approvals, and required closeout documentation Assist in preparing projects for final inspections and successful closeout Qualifications: Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project locations Willingness to occasionally work off-hours or weekends to meet project needs High School Diploma or GED required; Coursework or degree in construction, engineering, or related field is preferred. Experience in construction, estimating, permitting, or project coordination is a plus. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word required. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks Ability to work independently while following defined processes and deadlines Compensation Salary range: $45,000-$50,000 per year, based on experience Paid Time Off Health Insurance and 401(k) offered after initial vesting period Clear opportunity to grow into a larger role within the organization Schedule Full-time 8-hour shifts Monday through Friday In-person: Tampa office and project sites Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year Benefits 401(k) 401(k) matching Health insurance Paid time off Work Location: In person
