Overview We are seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Manager to join our Waffle Shop team at our Downtown State College location. In this role, you will support the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily operations within our high-volume establishment. You will play a crucial role in ensuring consistent standards of food quality, safety, and customer service while managing staff effectively for the overall success of our dining operations. Responsibilities Assist in managing day-to-day food service operations in a high-volume restaurant, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Supervise and train staff, fostering a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and efficiency. Participate in interviewing and hiring processes for new team members. Oversee food production processes to maintain quality standards and consistency. Assist in budgeting and cost control measures to optimize operational efficiency. Assist with managing shift schedules to ensure adequate staffing levels during peak hours. Collaborate with the Restaurant Manager during service hours, ensuring all areas of the restaurant are functioning smoothly as a system. Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly to enhance guest satisfaction. Create daily organized records to track pay ins/outs and cashier balances. Be a great example of punctuality, motivation, and professionalism for other staff members. Maintain inventory levels, track supply needs, and reduce waste in all areas. Ensure cleanliness of all areas in the restaurant, including the dining rooms, bathrooms, and kitchen. Requirements Proven experience in food service management or a related role within the food industry. Strong skills in shift management, staff training, and team leadership. Familiarity with budgeting practices and cost control measures in a food service setting. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a brisk atmosphere. Knowledge of food production techniques and safety standards. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with staff and customers alike. A passion for delivering exceptional food service experiences while maintaining high operational standards. A willingness to lead the team and lend assistance in any areas required. The right candidate will be familiar with restaurant operations and be able to provide excellent quality customer service. They should also be available to work any required operating hours, including weekends and holidays. This role would initially be part-time with the possibility of full-time employment for the right candidate. Experience in a high-volume fast-casual setting is preferred, and breakfast specific service is ideal. This person should be familiar with all steps of service for front-of house staff and should be willing and able to provide team leadership when the Restaurant Manager is unavailable.
