Job Description
The Old Rochester Regional School District and MA Superintendency Union #55 is seeking an Assistant Principal for Rochester Memorial Elementary School starting on July 1, 2026. Rochester Memorial School serves students in grades PreK - 6th grade and their families of the Town of Rochester. This high performing elementary school has a dedicated staff supported by a community that values quality academics, educational equity, and inclusion for all students. This position offers applicants a comprehensive leadership role both at Rochester Memorial Elementary School and as a member of the system-wide Leadership Team. Responsibilities: -Assume shared responsibility with the principal and teachers for establishing student expectations.-Assist in the development and implementation of operational guidelines for such student expectations as well as in the areas of building organization, community involvement in the school program, security of the school facility, and staff utilization.-Assume responsibility for supervision of student discipline.-Coordinate the assignment of substitute teachers and establish plans for emergency teacher coverage.-Develop in concert with the principal, a staff and student handbook.-Assist with creating building based schedules and event schedules.-Attend monthly School Council meetings in an ex-officio capacity.-Supervise the administration of MCAS testing/oversee coordination and administration of MCAS.-Chair all initial IEP and 504 evaluations and three-year re-evaluations as needed.-Attend school related events-family nights, PTO meetings.-Assume responsibility for the supervision of teaching and non-teaching personnel, which will be shared with the principal.-Manage the school in the absence of the principal.-Assume the shared responsibility for the development and implementation of the School Improvement Plan.-Assume other duties deemed necessary by the principal and/or superintendent of schools.Desired Leadership Qualities: Experienced educational leader focused on continuous improvement.
