Position Information Position Title Assistant Professor, Clinical or Counseling Psychology FLSA Exempt Primary Responsibilities The department of Psychology at St. Lawrence University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Clinical or Counseling Psychology to begin August 2026. We are a collegial department committed to high-impact, innovative teaching, active scholarship, and meaningful student engagement. We seek a colleague who shares our passion for undergraduate education in a liberal arts setting. The successful candidate will regularly teach Abnormal Psychology as well as an upper-level seminar course in Counseling and/or Clinical Psychology. Additional teaching opportunities may include Introductory Psychology or upper-level courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. The standard teaching load is three courses per semester. Sponsorship of undergraduate research projects is expected; opportunities for course release may be earned through this mentorship (https://www.stlawu.edu/offices/psychology/student-research). Interested candidates may also have the opportunity to teach in the university’s First Year Program, our residential living/learning program (https://www.stlawu.edu/offices/first-year-program ). Additionally, numerous other opportunities exist to mentor undergraduates, both within and outside the department, including working with students in the CSTEP and McNair Scholars programs (https://www.stlawu.edu/offices/cstep-and-mcnair). The successful candidate will join a department of 10 full-time faculty members and two academic support persons who are passionate about supporting our liberal arts curriculum through varied and inclusive pedagogies and scholarly pursuits.
