Job Title: Assistant Professor in Pediatric Endocrinology Location: Augusta University Regular/Temporary: Regular Full/Part Time: Full-Time Job ID: 291422 Job Summary The Department of Pediatrics, Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University in Augusta, Georgia is actively seeking a faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor to serve in a full-time, non-tenured track position as a board certified/board eligible Pediatric Endocrinology physician. Responsibilities Clinical Responsibilities - 90% Provide clinical care for pediatric patient population, to include satellite locations, in include both outpatient and inpatient setting. Clinical care would include but is not limited to the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of disorders, consultations, acute care, ordering and interpreting lab results, developing treatment plans, patient/family education and various procedures. Maintain and ensure that relevant patient records are properly updated. Share week day and weekend emergent/after-hours call coverage. Education/Instruction - 10% Provide mentorship, clinical supervision and consultation to residents/medical students/staff at AU and develop a more in-depth educational experience for trainees in pediatric endocrinology; Provide training to residents/medical students/staff at AU/Wellstar Health System in pediatric endocrinology through didactics; Achieve and maintain teaching scores at or above the department mean. Required Qualifications Medical degree from an accredited medical school/university, Board Certified in Pediatrics, and Board Certified/Board Eligible in Pediatric Endocrinology. Must have or be eligible for a State of Georgia medical license, federal DEA and CPR certified. Assistant Professor- Early level career as a faculty member with appropriate post graduate training. Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be: Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)¿s requirements for institutional accreditation; Evidence of ability as a teacher; Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned; Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements); and, Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations. Shift/Salary/Benefits This position is fiscal year based and works year-round. The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time. Assistant Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements.The salary is subject to availability of funds.
