Job Summary Vaughan Electric is seeking a motivated, team-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support our growing operations. Responsibilities Visit job sites to monitor progress and support field teams Communicate effectively with electricians, foremen, and project managers Attend project meetings (both virtual and in person) Assist with estimating and project budgeting Complete pre-qualification packages for general contractors Support daily project operations and coordination Review contract drawings, RFIs, and submittals for accuracy and compliance Assist in preparing detailed construction estimates by analyzing project plans, specifications, and bid documents using tools like HeavyBid and Bluebeam. Collaborate with project managers to develop accurate cost projections, schedules, and resource allocations. Support the review and negotiation of contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to secure favorable terms while maintaining strong relationships. Contribute to cost control efforts throughout the project lifecycle by monitoring expenses and identifying potential savings opportunities. Coordinate with on-site teams to gather construction site data, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to safety standards and quality expectations. Assist in managing project documentation, including change orders, RFIs (Requests for Information), submittals, and progress reports. Participate in meetings with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to facilitate clear communication and resolve issues promptly. Skills Proficiency with Bluebeam for digital plan markup and document management. Strong negotiation skills to secure competitive pricing and favorable contract terms. Experience with HeavyBid or similar estimating software for accurate cost estimation. Solid understanding of construction estimating principles and techniques. Knowledge of construction site operations, safety protocols, and project management best practices. Ability to analyze project data for effective cost control and pricing strategies.
