Job Description:Assistant Store Manager (ASM) - Clothing DepartmentLocation:Steamboat Ace Hardware The Assistant Store Manager (ASM) for the Clothing Department is a key leader responsible for driving department performance, upholding exceptional customer service, and ensuring operational excellence within the clothing section of Steamboat Ace Hardware.This role plays a vital part in achieving sales targets, enhancing the customer shopping experience, and supporting the overall success of the store.Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Customer Service:Directly lead, coach, and develop clothing department associates to deliver outstanding customer service and achieve department goals.Foster a collaborative and customer-focused environment that encourages teamwork and continuous improvement.Operational & Sales Management:Assume accountability for meeting or exceeding clothing department sales and margin targets.Implement strategies to drive sales, optimize merchandising, and improve overall customer experience within the clothing section.Store Supervision:Provide leadership and assume responsibility for clothing department operations in the absence of the Store Manager or as directed.Ensure department compliance with store policies and standards.Workforce Management:Forecast customer traffic and workflow needs specific to the clothing department.Schedule and allocate labor resources effectively to ensure optimal staffing and service levels.Inventory & Merchandising Management:Plan for seasonal trends, promotions, and sales events within the clothing department.Maintain accurate inventory levels, minimize stockouts, and manage shrink/swell effectively.Ensure clothing displays are visually appealing, organized, and aligned with brand standards.Safety & Compliance Leadership:Promote a safe working and shopping environment within the clothing department.Conduct regular safety checks, enforce equipment protocols, and train team members on safe practices.Expectations of an ASM Schedule:This is a salaried, exempt position with a standard 45-hour workweek.Flexibility is required, including extended hours, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak seasons and promotional events.Availability:Must have full availability, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.Physical Requirements:Ability to perform essential job functions, including prolonged standing, lifting, climbing ladders, and bending.Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds unassisted and heavier items with assistance as needed.Willingness to operate computers, mobile devices, and store equipment relevant to the clothing department.Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of experience directly leading and developing associates in a retail or customer service environment.At least 5 years of experience performing manager-on-duty responsibilities, with demonstrated ability to oversee daily operations beyond immediate area of responsibility.Strong knowledge of retail clothing merchandising, inventory management, and sales strategies.Familiarity with Ace Hardware product offerings is a plus, but focus will be on clothing department operations.Job Type:Full-time Pay:$80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year Benefits:401(k) Dental insurance Employee discount Health insurance Paid time off Tuition reimbursement Vision insurance Work Location:In person.
