Continental Painting and Decorating, Inc.is currently seeking an Assistant Superintendent to join our team of professionals in Chicago.The Assistant Superintendent role is critical to the viability of Continental Painting because this person ensures the profitability of the job and the satisfaction of the customer.The ideal candidate will have experience in a self-performing trade.A construction management background would be a good fit for this position, which requires superior interpersonal, project management, personnel management and organizational skills.The job responsibilities include:Project Setup Mandatory attendance for all project turnovers Monitor progress for all projects before they start to assure readiness Attend all project starts and walk painters thru projects Assure all projects have adequate materials, equipment and personnel Project Monitoring Visit project sites to verify manpower, efficiency, and quality Update specification sheets with hours to project completion Compare and verify hours worked to hours estimated on projects Project Communication Attend Operations Meetings in the office to discuss current and upcoming projects Attend Job Cost Meetings weekly Review projects with PM's on a frequent basis Personnel Prepare the daily work schedule for the painters Evaluate and grade painters into divisions (i.e.sprayers, hangers, stage, etc.) Develop a training program that will assist in meeting company goals Teach upcoming painters skill sets to excel in divisions Attend classes to better company knowledge (i.e.stage work, faux finishing, etc.) Hold quarterly meetings with General Foremen Must excel in team leadership in the field Schedule and manage painter meetings Experience Requirements:5-10 years in the painting industry At least 5 years of experience in the commercial painting industry with commensurate knowledge of the construction process 3 years of managing others as a superintendent or foreman Experience in spraying multiple products and applications Experience in working with arial equipment Ability to read and understand construction drawings Job Competencies Required:Strong written and verbal communication skills Operational and technical ability and knowledge Proficient computer skills Analytical and financial aptitude Decision-making and problem resolution skills; excellent judgment and common sense Organization and time management; meets deadlines, over delivers Building relationships with internal and external teams, organizations and individuals Customer service orientation Integrity and values; reputation for honesty and trustworthiness Understands the painting process Pay:$85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year Benefits:401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Work Location:In person.
