Overview We are looking to hire an individual who would like to train to become a winemaker.We are an established company moving into the St.George market in late 2026.We will be building a full production winery in the St.George Metropolitan area and are presently looking for a person who is very excited about learning all the aspects of winemaking and wine cellar management. Responsibilities Assist the winemaker in the production of wine, including the blending and aging of wine. Maintaining wine and wine equipment in a safe and sanitary manner, including the proper care and sanitation of wine tanks, barrels, hoses pumps and related winery equipment. Run bottling equipment and bottle wine as needed. Maintain wine cellar equipment, including pumps, tanks, oak barrels, forklift etc. Operate mechanical equipment and machinery, including forklift, pumps, bottling equipment.. Maintain the overall health of the wines in storage, including testing pH levels, SO2 levels and other chemical and biological analysis. Maintain cleanliness and organization within the wine cellar, adhering to strict sanitation and safety guidelines Collaborate with the winemaker to monitor and improve quality of the wines and the processes and practices used in wine production. Support inventory management, including the proper tracking of wine moving from the production area to the tasting room.Create and maintain par levels in inventory management.Order bottles, corks capsules, and other wine making inventory as needed. Ensure the proper storage of materials in the production room. Requirements We do not require previous experience in the wine industry although it is a definite advantage if you have it.What is needed is a desire to learn the wine business and a passion to produce great wines. Prior experience or familiarity with food sanitation, microbiology, or chemistry will give you an advantage for consideration. A successful applicant must enjoy and appreciate wine and be prepared to learn about wine tasting and receive certifications in wine and wine production. Mechanical knowledge related to equipment maintenance, and repair is advantageous. Ability to operate forklifts safely; certification is a plus but not required initially Experience in breweries, distilleries or vineyard management would also be advantageous. Excellent attention to detail with a focus on producing and protecting the quality of the wines.
