Job Description
Job Summary The Litigation Associate Attorney supports a dynamic trial-based practice across business, insurance, intellectual property, and employment litigation matters. This role focuses on (1) conducting legal research and drafting pleadings and motions, (2) supporting case strategy and litigation activities including discovery and depositions, and (3) engaging with clients and legal teams on complex cases. The position plays a key role in driving successful litigation outcomes while providing opportunities for hands-on courtroom experience and professional development. Key Responsibilities Assist lead attorneys in all phases of litigation, including research, drafting pleadings, and dispositive motions Draft and respond to discovery requests and manage discovery processes Participate in document review, coding, database management, and production for complex cases Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, and trial proceedings Present motions and arguments in court, as appropriate Collaborate with litigation teams to develop case strategies and trial preparation Engage directly with clients and maintain strong communication throughout case progression Support preparation for hearings, agency proceedings, and trials Minimum Education & Experience Requirements Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school (required) Active law license in Pennsylvania (required) 2–6+ years of litigation experience in one or more of the following areas: insurance coverage, bad faith and defense litigation, business litigation, IP infringement, employment, trade secrets, or cybersecurity/data breach Strong understanding of Pennsylvania state and federal litigation rules and procedures Demonstrated experience with legal research, writing, and drafting Special Requirements Active bar admission and good standing in Pennsylvania Ability to participate in depositions, hearings, and courtroom proceedings Ability to manage multiple litigation matters and deadlines Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong legal research and writing skills Knowledge of litigation procedures, discovery processes, and motion practice Ability to draft high-quality legal documents including pleadings and motions Familiarity with document management systems and large-scale discovery processes Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to collaborate effectively within litigation teams Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Additional Desired Characteristics Experience with insurance coverage, defense, and bad faith litigation Exposure to IP, trade secrets, employment law, or cybersecurity litigation Experience supporting trial preparation and courtroom proceedings Familiarity with complex case management and litigation strategy development Work Environment This position operates within a professional legal environment in a regional location, with flexible or hybrid work arrangements available.
