Location: This position is in Cleveland, Ohio. The Cleveland office of our client is seeking a business transactions associate with 4-6 years of experience to join its Chambers-ranked Business Group. The candidate would work with our regional, national, and multinational clients primarily as a member of the Mergers & Acquisitions practice team. We represent clients in a variety of industries and in a variety of corporate transactions, including buy- and sell-side acquisitions, dispositions, recapitalisations, partnerships, joint ventures, and capital raising, primarily in the private markets. Our clients include public and private companies, as well as private equity firms and family offices. We are looking for a proactive candidate with strong training and experience who is interested in significant client contact and running transactions with the support of a first-rate, tight-knit team of partners and associates. Our Client is ranked number 11 in "Best Law Firms to Work For” by Vault Law in 2026 and the Cleveland office ranked #1 in the Midlevel Associate Survey by The American Lawyer in 2025. Qualifications Include Significant experience in M&A transactions, with a solid working knowledge of related law and deal processes. Experience in other corporate and commercial matters, such as corporate governance, joint ventures, partnerships, and commercial contracts. Understanding of general corporate, limited liability company and other applicable law for drafting, due diligence and related workflows, including choice of entity and entity formation and governance. An ability to work efficiently with a fast-paced, complex workload balancing multiple projects, maintaining priorities, and anticipating issues, while contributing to practice and deal teams. Private equity experience is preferred. Effective and detail-oriented writing and oral communication skills. The professional commitment and interpersonal skills necessary to succeed in a collaborative cross-office team environment and to supervise and mentor junior transactional associates.
