Associate Cost Engineer

Summary of Responsibilities: At American Transmission Company (ATC), our capital projects power reliable electricity across the Midwest-and disciplined cost management is essential to getting them done right. We're looking for a Cost Engineer who brings analytical rigor, practical judgment, and a collaborative mindset to help project teams deliver complex transmission and infrastructure projects with confidence. In this role, you'll be a trusted partner to Project Managers and cross-functional teams, providing credible cost forecasting, earned value analysis, and forward-looking insights that support informed decision-making throughout the project lifecycle. Essential Responsibilities: What You'll Do Develop, maintain, and analyze project budgets, cost forecasts, and productivity plans for assigned capital projects or programs Perform earned value, trend, and variance analysis to identify changes in project performance and forecast outcomes Review contractor and field performance information to evaluate cost accuracy, productivity trends, and reporting credibility Provide timely cost insights, forecast updates, and data-based recommendations to Project Managers and project teams Support management control planning, forecast development, and project performance reviews throughout the project lifecycle Contribute to benchmarking, lessons learned, and estimate feedback loops that improve future cost performance and estimating accuracy Participate in project reviews, continuous improvement initiatives, and cross-functional efforts that strengthen cost engineering practices Support ATC Ready incident response roles as assigned What You Bring - Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, Business, or a related technical or science discipli
