JOB SUMMARY The Associate Director of the Child Care Center at North Mississippi Health Services oversees all operations and management of the center, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. They manage personnel, adhere to budgetary guidelines, and work closely with various staff members to uphold regulatory compliance in the absence of the director or in an ancillary site. | JOB FUNCTIONS | | --- | Basic Requirements Coordinates and assists the Director with the overall operations and management of the Child Care Center. Acts as the Director in the Director's absence. Supports the Director in a fair and consistent manner with the supervision and evaluation of staff in an assigned area or department. Available to all childcare staff and parents to help resolve issues as they arise. Understands and remains in compliance with all childcare regulations and guidelines. Communications Communicates with parents and childcare staff in a professional and positive manner with open and honest conversations to resolve issues as they arise. Uses creativity to develop and stimulate educational experiences. Uses discretion, discernment and tact in confidential matters. Budget Assist director in developing revenue and expense projections for budget to include childcare fees, wages and equipment needs. Uses materials and time wisely in order to keep Child Care Center Assists Director in monitoring center financial performance and implementing changes as directed to optimize budget performance. Required Expert Level (High) Must have ability to communicate effectively orally. Required Expert Level (High) Ability to follow oral instructions. Required Expert Level (High) Must participate in 15 hours of staff development to retain this position. Required Expert Level (High) Ability to be able to read and write English is desirable. Required Expert Level (High) Knowledge of childhood illnesses and diseases is also desirable. Required Expert Level (High) Must have ability to supervise staff. Required Intermediate Level (Medium) Familiarizes new employees with the goals and mission of the department. Required Intermediate Level (Medium) Coaches and interacts with supervisors to ensure the Child Care Center environment is meeting the needs of the children. Required Intermediate Level (Medium) Follows the department grooming, hand washing and food safety standards. Required Expert Level (High) Supports and participates in Quality Process Improvement activities. Required Intermediate Level (Medium) Ability to maintain confidentiality.
