Job Description
Associate General Counsel About the Company Accomplished company in the financial services industry Industry Financial Services Type Privately Held About the Role The Company is seeking an Associate General Counsel to join its dynamic legal team. The successful candidate will be a key player in the fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, providing autonomous legal counsel on a wide range of business matters. This includes drafting, redlining, and negotiating various agreements, offering legal advice on regulatory compliance, privacy laws, and insurance/service contract matters, and managing outside counsel on litigation issues. The role also involves supporting M&A activities, ensuring legal compliance in marketing and training materials, and engaging with trade associations. The ideal candidate will have a JD, be an active member of a US State Bar, and have at least 7 years' of legal experience, with a majority in an in-house counsel role for a business of similar complexity. Applicants for the Associate General Counsel position at the company should have a strong generalist background, with a preference for experience in regulatory compliance, insurance, or a regulated industry. The role requires a proven ability to manage outside counsel, excellent communication and leadership skills, and the ability to work as a self-starter with a high level of autonomy. M&A due diligence experience is also preferred. The company values a candidate who is a quick learner, can keep pace with an ambitious business, and is comfortable with direct interaction with C-Suite executives.
