Job Title: Associate HR Generalist (1–3 Years Experience) Location: Bergen County, NJ or Rockland County, NY (Onsite) Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented HR Generalist with 1–3 years of experience to support day-to-day human resources operations. This role is ideal for a professional looking to grow their HR career in a fast-paced environment. The HR Generalist will handle a variety of responsibilities including employee relations, onboarding, compliance, and administrative support. Experience in the trucking or transportation industry, particularly with DOT regulations, is a strong plus but not required. Key Responsibilities: Administer new hire orientation and ensure a smooth onboarding experience Maintain employee records and ensure HRIS data accuracy and compliance Support employee relations by responding to inquiries and assisting with issue resolution Help implement HR policies and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws Assist with benefits administration, enrollments, and employee questions Support payroll processing by providing accurate employee data and updates Track and manage employee training and development programs Assist with performance management processes and documentation Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism Compliance & Industry-Specific (Preferred but Not Required): Support DOT compliance processes including driver qualification files, drug & alcohol testing programs, and regulatory recordkeeping Stay informed on transportation industry regulations and assist with audits or inspections Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred 1–3 years of HR experience (internships and co-ops may be considered) Basic understanding of HR principles, employment laws, and best practices Strong organizational and time-management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with HRIS systems is a plus Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Compensation & Benefits: Competitive salary based on experience Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and holidays Opportunities for professional growth and development
