Job Description
Purpose and Scope The Associate Manager serves the Association by supporting leaders in equipping members for effective ministry. A key component of member preparation occurs through events that communicate leadership direction, provide practical training, and encourage members in their service. These events – including International, USA State, and National Association Conventions – serve as a primary channel for translating direction from cabinets and committees into guidance that equips members to implement Ministry Programs effectively at the camp level in their local communities. While the Associate Manager supports the planning and execution of all events, the Associate Manager fills a dual role effectively splitting her focus between supporting needs of the Association externally and leading efforts that ensure visitors (members, leaders, and guests) to the building are properly hosted. This role will work closely with the Senior Manager, Ministry Events & Auxiliary to ensure leadership guidance and feedback are accurately reflected in inputs to the Planning & Design team, are coordinated with direction from other leaders, and are reflected in event programming, supporting resources, and resulting activities. The Associate Manager also supports International Auxiliary Cabinet Representatives as they attend events and deliver key messages that equip leaders and members. When appropriate, the Associate Manager may also serve as a presenter at various events, delivering content that advances the Auxiliary’s purpose of assisting the Gideons in fulfilling their single objective. Team Leadership (40%) Manages the guest experience, including front desk reception, to provide exceptional hospitality and operational support that minimizes distractions. Coordinates building usage and hospitality requests. Equips staff to effectively host tours for visitors and is able to host tours as needed. Through thorough planning, logistical guidance, and close collaboration with the other Ministry Programs divisions, ensure that all events are carried out with clarity, consistency, and a strong focus on member and leader success. Leadership Support (20%) Leads the facilitation of Scripture distributions at USA medical conventions on behalf of the International Auxiliary Cabinet including incoming and outgoing communication, data entry and tracking, and coordinating orders placed. Auxiliary Presidents Conference & International Convention (15%) Serves as staff liaison to the Auxiliary Presidents Conference Program Committee, ensuring that elements are cohesively incorporated into the overall convention planning, overseeing staff responsibilities in coordinating meeting preparation and post-meeting needs. During International Convention, serves with the event team members to assist with event-wide needs and address issues that need to be resolved. Proper utilization of deliverables, event logistics, and assisting leaders is a key focus. Special Assignments (25%) Represents the International Auxiliary Cabinet at regional conventions and conferences as assigned and approved by a committee of the International Cabinet. Prepare and deliver inspirational and educational presentations as assigned, ensuring all messages reinforce the purpose, mission, and vision of the Association. All new presentations will be developed as independent projects so that curriculum can be utilized by member leaders. This responsibility oftentimes requires domestic and occasional international travel.
