Little City Montessori is an independent preschool with locations in Old Kensington and Northern Liberties, serving students toddler through elementary. LCM believes children should be nurtured and celebrated as individuals in order for them unlock their love for learning and build on their natural curiosity. We are excited to bring another Associate Teacher onto our talented teaching team! We have built a team of dedicated, passionate, caring teachers in a community of supportive families. Associate Teacher’s Responsibilities Support the Lead and Assistant Teachers in the classroom, enabling them to focus on instruction without interruption Support After Care for the program with other Associate Teachers Actively document students’ daily experiences to provide accurate and transparent communications to families Maintain an environment that is clean, organized and safe for all children Communicate with the Lead and Assistant Teachers regarding all aspects of the children’s care as well as classroom management Oversight of toileting activities Assist with lunchroom routine and duties Assist with diapering and toileting activities Prep the classroom as needed Assist and ensure safety during outdoor play, including older age groups when toddlers are napping Participate in school sponsored events Maintain a professional self-image and project the values of the school at all times Ensure the daily care of every child by following all licensing guidelines and implementing all school standards Be responsible and flexible for all other duties as assigned Qualifications: Associate Teacher applicants must meet the below requirements. At least one year of experience caring for children aged 18 - 35 months Growth mindset: willingness to accept and incorporate feedback to continuously improve Engages enthusiastically with colleagues Strong personal communication skills and written communication skills Practices punctuality with a reliable means of transportation All mandated clearances and trainings as required References and a proven track record of caring and nurturing children Legally authorized to work in the United States Ability to lift 30 lbs Desired Characteristics: Previous experience in a classroom with toddler-aged children Interest in or an understanding of the Montessori philosophy Ideal candidates will be eager to learn, flexible and able to adapt to any situation that arises The start date is August 18, 2026. This is a 12-month, full-time position. Monday through Friday, 10:00am - 5:30pm. We offer a competitive hourly rate with benefits.
