Mayde Creek Animal Health Center, a full-service small animal veterinary hospital in Houston, Texas, is seeking a compassionate, team-oriented Associate Veterinarian to join our dedicated veterinary health team. In this role, you will provide high-quality medical, surgical, and dental care to dogs and cats while helping to support the overall health and well-being of pets in our local community. As an Associate Veterinarian, you will perform comprehensive wellness and sick-pet examinations, develop diagnostic and treatment plans, interpret laboratory and imaging results, and communicate clearly with clients regarding findings and recommended care. You will manage a variety of medical cases, from preventive care and internal medicine to dermatology, dentistry, and basic soft tissue surgery. Responsibilities include performing routine surgical procedures such as spays, neuters, mass removals, and wound repairs, as well as providing dental prophylaxis, extractions, and oral health care for companion animals using appropriate pain management and anesthesia protocols. You will work closely with skilled technicians and support staff in a collaborative, family-like environment that values teamwork, respect, and ongoing learning. A key part of the position involves educating pet owners about preventative care, including vaccinations, parasite control, nutrition, dental health, behavior, and wellness screening, while building strong, long-term client relationships through clear, compassionate communication. The practice utilizes modern diagnostic tools and equipment, and you will be expected to use these resources to support accurate and efficient case workups. You will maintain thorough and timely medical records, follow hospital protocols and standards of care, and participate in case discussions and quality improvement efforts with the veterinary team.
