Job Description
Associate Warehouse Clerk Ted Pella, Inc.is seeking an Associate Warehouse Clerk to join our Warehouse team.This person will initially be primarily assigned to perform stocking and inventory functions in the warehouse, but will assist in other Warehouse functions as assigned to provide the best service, support, and satisfaction to both internal and external customers.This position reports to the Warehouse Supervisor and Operations Manager.This is a temporary to hire position with consideration for regular full time after 90 days.Primary Responsibilities:Stocker: Facilitate all pre-pack finished products by sorting for appropriate stocking locations. Complete stocking of products, checking stock counts against Syspro for accurate inventory. Place overstock in respective bins. Tag items with location tags for overstock product. Monitor variances found in Syspro versus physical stock. Product end of the month report recording and reporting all variances.Meet with management to decide on appropriate actions. Perform stock forensics to explain variances, or make adjustments in Syspro, as instructed. Monitor products being transferred between buildings. Assist order pullers in locating overstock product and replenish shelves when needed. Responsible for maintaining neat and organized work area. Transport overstock and equipment between our 2 facilities for order fulfillment. Assist with any special projects or duties as needed. Follow all safety protocols. Perform back up duties in other warehouse functions as needed. Perform additional duties as required.Prepack: Participate in maintaining a neat and organized warehouse at all times. Communicate with other warehouse staff, customer services, or sales to resolve issues that arise. Facilitate packaging of customer products to ensure representable and accurate delivery of goods. Follow and keep current on all Prepack production instructions that describe packing procedures. Select the proper packing materials for preparing customer products to include; bags, tubes, boxes, etc. Identify and print proper label sizes and quantities for products based on the Inventory Journal report. Prioritize backorder products vs stocked inventory from daily Inventory Journal report. Accurately count, weigh or measure bulk products into smaller volumes for inventory needs. Responsible for reporting damaged products to leadership team identified during the packaging process. Responsible for reporting inventory discrepancies to leadership team identified during the packaging process. Assist with any special projects or duties as needed. Follow all safety protocols. Perform back up duties in other warehouse functions as needed. Perform additional duties as required.Order Picker: Retrieve picking slips and accurately pick products from designated warehouse areas for customer orders to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods to customers. Include required SDS information as part of the order fulfillment process. Process Hazardous Materials per safe handing protocols. Properly pack, seal, and label boxes to prepare for shipping. Utilize shipping software to compute shipping rates, based on size, weight, contents, hazardous goods, etc.Produce shipping labels and affix properly to each shipment. Maintain the cleanliness of the warehouse picking area(s). Ensure a neat and organized warehouse at all times. Collaborate with other warehouse staff, customer service, or sales to resolve issues that arise. Assist with any special projects or duties as needed. Follow all safety protocols. Perform back up duties in other warehouse functions as needed. Perform additional duties as required.Job Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent is required. 1 year of prior related experience is desired, preferably in a warehouse or production environment. Must be proficient on computers and able to type.Must be comfortable in Microsoft Office - Word, Outlook, Excel.Experience with MRP/ERP system is desirable. Excellent attention to detail, especially with number sequences. Ability to learn new tasks quickly, and be able to keep up in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. Ability to follow all safety protocols Good communication skills, both verbally and in writing.Must write legibly. Good math skills, and the ability to problem solve and make good judgement calls. Excellent organizational skills.Must be neat and clean in work habits. Must be able to handle small items with dexterity and count accurately. Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record. Prior forklift and pallet jack is desirable. Able to conform to company policies and procedures. Be dependable and have a strong work ethic.Physical Job Requirements:Must have excellent eye sight to recognize lengthy part numbers.Must be able to communicate verbally and hear instructions.Must be capable of being
