Job Description
Nichols College is seeking an Assistant/Associate Professor in Psychology and Counseling and Program Director for its newly approved Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program. The Program Director is a member of the full-time faculty (rank commensurate with experience) who is granted course release time and stipend (included in salary range) to provide academic oversight of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. Tenure track is possible for qualified candidates. To promote the visibility and stature of the program, the Program Director engages in professional associations, businesses, and the local community as necessary. The Program Director reports to the Associate Dean of the Graduate School. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Performs instructional duties as assigned and outlined in the Faculty Handbook. Manages all academic matters related to the program in accordance with the policies and procedures of the College and accrediting bodies, including oversight of faculty, curriculum, scheduling, and student advising and completion efforts. Supports campus leadership in developing and executing strategic program enrollment plans. Maintains program compliance with accreditation and state regulatory criteria. Partners with the College Dean to oversee assessment and accreditation activities. Participates in program-related campus events, such as new student orientation, graduation, etc. and other responsibilities as determined by the Associate Dean and/or Provost. QUALIFICATIONS Earned doctoral degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology or Counselor Education and Supervision, preferably from a MPCAC or CACREP-accredited program, or a related doctoral degree. Current Massachusetts or reciprocal state license as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. A minimum of 1-2 years experience as an instructor of record in masters and/or doctorate-level clinical
