Job Summary: This role supports collegiate athletes by providing comprehensive evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and coordination of care for musculoskeletal and neurological injuries. The position also emphasizes preventative care and education for patients, their families, healthcare staff, and the wider community. Acting as a vital link between athletes, physicians, and support services, the Athletic Trainer ensures seamless communication and care delivery. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Applied Knowledge: A broad understanding of various medical conditions is essential. Proficiency in assessment, evaluation, and collaboration with healthcare professionals is required. Decision-Making Skills: Must demonstrate critical thinking and independent judgment in assessing, treating, rehabilitating, and determining return-to-play readiness in accordance with state licensure guidelines. Attention to Detail: Accurate injury tracking and thorough documentation are crucial. Interpersonal Skills: Effective communication under pressure with patients, medical teams, staff, and families is necessary. The ability to organize, prioritize, and multitask independently is expected.
