Job Description
The Job San Bernardino County ATC is seeking a skilled and proactive ATC Systems Support Analyst II* to support the operation and maintenance of critical IT infrastructure. This position performs systems administration, cloud and identity administration, storage management, and datacenter operations. This role is essential to the performance, reliability, and scalability of enterprise technology systems. Key Responsibilities: Support business continuity and disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution across enterprise systems. Administer enterprise cloud platforms, including provisioning, monitoring, and optimization of cloud resources. Oversee system performance, plan for capacity growth, and coordinate upgrades. Diagnose and resolve issues affecting systems and applications. Deploy, configure, and provide ongoing support for system software across the environment. Maintain LAN/WAN networks and datacenter operations. Track and administer enterprise storage infrastructure. Evaluate system hardware, software, and overall performance to identify improvements and recommend upgrades. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Pre-Employment Process: Incumbent must successfully complete a background investigation (fingerprinting and work history/education check) in addition to a job-related physical exam, including a drug test. Availability: Incumbents must be available to work different shifts. The County pays an hourly differential for those employees working night shifts. Minimum Requirements REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of full-time equivalent work experience, within the past five (5) years, performing systems administration at the enterprise-level. Experience must include at least two (2) of the following: Administration of Enterprise storage and Azure cloud infrastructure, including Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Azure Files, virtual network (VNet), and related Azure resources Administration of physical and virtual Windows servers utilizing Microsoft Server Operating Systems Administration of enterprise identity and data governance solutions, including Entra ID, conditional access, role-based access control, and data classification, retention, and protection Administration of VMware virtualization platforms Administration of Enterprise data protection, backup, and disaster recovery systems Administration of Enterprise Applications Administration of converged/hyperconverged hardware platforms Administration of Web Servers (Windows IIS and/or Apache/WordPress) Administration and design of datacenter environmental systems -AND- REQUIRED EDUCATION: Thirty (30) semester/(45 quarter) units of completed, post high-school coursework from an accredited university or technical school in Computer Information Systems, Business/Public Administration, or a closely related field. A list of coursework must be submitted with the application unless a degree in one of the listed fields has been conferred. SUBSTITUTION FOR EDUCATION: An additional year of qualifying experience may substitute for the required education. Desired Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess the following: Practical experience with Microsoft Azure services in an enterprise environment, including Virtual Machines, Storage, Files, Virtual Network, ExpressRoute, Backup, Purview, Monitor, Cost Management, Conditional Access, and AD Connect. Comfort using PowerShell to automate day-to-day administrative work. Operational familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Entra Participation in disaster recovery planning, testing, and recovery exercises. Supporting role on high-availability infrastructure such as Microsoft clustering, IIS, and VMware. General understanding of datacenter environmental systems, including power, cooling, and fire suppression. An associate’s degree (or higher) in computer information systems or a closely related field.
