Position OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and motivated Associate Attorney with a minimum of three years of family law experience to join our growing practice. The ideal candidate is a confident advocate, a clear communicator, and someone who genuinely cares about clients navigating difficult personal circumstances. You will manage your own caseload with appropriate supervision and have real opportunities for professional growth. Key Responsibilities Handle a diverse caseload of family law matters, including divorce, legal separation, child custody and visitation, child and spousal support, property division, domestic violence restraining orders, and adoptions. Draft and file pleadings, motions, declarations, stipulations, and other legal documents with accuracy and attention to detail. Represent clients in hearings, trials, mediations, and settlement conferences. Conduct legal research and provide clients with clear, practical guidance on their rights and options. Maintain consistent, proactive communication with clients throughout their cases. Negotiate directly with opposing counsel to reach favorable resolutions. Collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, and firm leadership to ensure efficient case management. Meet reasonable billable hour targets while maintaining high standards of client service. Qualifications & Requirements Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. Active, in good standing bar admission in New Jersey. Minimum 3 years of dedicated family law experience (law firm or private practice preferred). Demonstrated experience with contested hearings, trials, or evidentiary proceedings. Strong legal research and writing skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate sensitively with clients in emotionally charged situations. Proficiency with legal practice management software (e.g., Clio, MyCase, or similar). Highly organized with the ability to manage competing deadlines independently. Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary: $75,000 – $110,000 annually, commensurate with experience and client base. Performance-based bonuses. Health, dental, and vision insurance.
