Overview Join our family as an Autism Support Specialist, where your passion for helping children with developmental disabilities will make a meaningful difference. In this vital role, you will provide tailored behavioral and educational support to a child with profound autism, fostering their growth and independence. Responsibilities Implement individualized care plans and behavioral interventions based on ABA principles to support a child with profound autism. Assist child with activities of daily living (ADLs), including grooming, feeding, toileting, and other self-care skills. Collect and analyze data on behavior patterns to monitor progress and adjust strategies accordingly. Collaborate with team to develop consistent approaches that promote skill development and behavior management. Maintain accurate medical documentation, records, and progress notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Use behavior management techniques to encourage positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors in a patient and respectful manner. Requirements Prior experience or training in behavioral therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), or working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism. Experience assisting children with ADLs and implementing behavior management strategies. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, families, and caregivers. Patience, compassion, and a proactive attitude toward supporting child‘s growth and well-being. Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to ethical standards in patient care settings.
