Job Details To be considered for this position, candidate must reside within 50 miles of one of the following Farmers Corportate Office Locations: Caledonia, MI ~ Kansas City, KS ~ Oklahoma City, OK ~ Phoenix, AZ ~ St. Louis, MO Start Dates Monday, June 1st (Candidates who do not have an Active All Lines Adjuster license) Monday, June 15th (Candidates that have an active All Lines Adjuster license - must be up to date on CE's) Award Winning Paid Training Program: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Local time, 8-12 weeks. Post Training Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm local time. Department Hours of Operation: 7:00 am - 7:00 pm, Monday - Saturday. You are expected to work 40 hours/week with flexibility, subject to business needs, geographic location, and Farmers Timekeeping Policy. Compensation: $26.01 - $38.51 per hour, plus you will be eligible for an annual bonus. Pay is dependent upon the candidate's geographic location and relevant claims experience. Compensation will be evaluated based on related experience. Candidates with Claims Auto Handling or related industry experience are highly encouraged to apply. Job Summary Utilizes working knowledge and skills developed through formal training to investigate, confirm coverage, determine liability, establish damages, and negotiate settlements of auto claims, which includes single and multi-vehicle losses with basic coverage and moderate complexity of liability. Day In The Life Of An Auto Claim Handler Utilizes a broad understanding of claims adjusting to apply skills and knowledge to investigate and determine liability for claims with basic coverage issues and moderate to complex liability issues. Performs in-depth investigation and analysis on losses such as multi-vehicle losses with comparative negligence. Completes investigation by securing recorded statements of the drivers, police reports vehicle photos and estimates, and scene investigations. Makes same-day contact with customers. Explains the claims process to all customers. Explains all applicable coverage benefits to the policyholder. Confirms facts of loss. Determines vehicle location and if drivable. Offers vehicle repair and rental service options to customers. Coordinates auto physical damage estimate through the proper internal method of inspection and arranges for the release of vehicles that are accruing storage fees. Proactively investigates and determines coverage for Auto policy claims with coverage issues requiring in-depth investigation including but not limited to if the policy is out of force for the date of loss, unlisted or permissive drivers, excluded drivers, vehicles not on the policy, rideshare involvement, material misrepresentation issues, and new business investigations.
