National Infantry Association 1775 Legacy Way, Suite 210 Columbus, GA 31903 Phone:706-323-2560 Email:info@infantryassn.org Awards Manager Duties and Related Skills As the professional organization for the United States Infantry, the National Infantry Association (NIA) stands as a non-profit organization centered on a robust and growing membership.We build camaraderie among the Infantry community by connecting our members with beneficial networks and resources, recognizing outstanding contributions to the Infantry through our awards, and preserving the heritage, history, customs, and traditions of the Infantry.The Awards Manager facilitates the NIA's established Awards (Shield of Sparta, Order of St.Maurice, and Order of St.Michael):Reviews nominations, checks for accuracy, communicates with nominators, maintains databases of awardees, award numbers and date of issue, processes paperwork, updates files, records certificates and/or other documents and supplies.Tracks paperwork, awards pick up and shipping information, schedules Awards Board meetings, contacts nominators, disseminates results to all interested parties (including the nominator, the Director of Operations and any other appropriate NIA staff, board of directors and officers) and assembles and ships awards.Coordiantes with Medallion provider and assists with presentations.Plan and execute timeline for processing of award nominations.Update award application(s) as needed and manage recipient database.Utilizes the United States Postal Service (USPS) materials and shipping accessories to mail out completed awards.Processes cash and credit card payments, provide billing and receipt activity and documentation to the Director of Operations.Assists with Membership Program:Performs regular functions involving new and existing memberships, responds to routine inquiries, maintains database and files.Performs a range of staff and/or operational support activities; may serve as a liaison with other departments on administrative or operational matters as directed.Attends quarterly NIA Board Meetings and provides Quarterly and/or yearly Awards progress reports.Respond to Contact Us inquiries related to Awards from the website via email or phone.Assist with Contact Us inquiries related to membership and general questions via email or phone.From time to time may provide detail and respond to inquiries regarding the organization via social media, email, and telephone.Supervisor:Yvonne Petrasovits, Director of Operations.Qualifications:1.Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Publisher with knowledge of Corel Draw a plus.2.Strong verbal and written communication skills required.Must be highly organized with a high level of attention to detail.Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.3.Familiarity with Army ranks and terminology, and minimum 2 years office experience preferred.4.Must have ability to interpret and communicate Association policies to members and the public.5.Must present neat and professional appearance, which represents the organization.Office hours are Monday-Friday, 9:00 - 3:00.The Awards Manager is expected to work approximately 30 hours/week (Mon - Fri), during those hours at a set schedule.From time to time, the Awards Director will assist with and attend approximately 3 -4 events that may occur on weekends or evenings such as the Infantry Ball, Doughboy Awards Dinner, Annual AUSA Conference and other events as needed.Salary depending on qualifications.Anticipated start date April 1, 2026 Pay:$24,000.00 - $27,000.00 per year Schedule:Day shift Work Location:In person.
