Bankruptcy Associate Location: Northern New Jersey (Hybrid) Compensation : $220,000 – $370,000+ Base Salary, plus Bonus Based in Northern New Jersey, we are a highly respected AmLaw 200 law firm known for its client-focused approach collaborative culture and commitment to delivering practical results. The Restructuring and Insolvency practice is expanding and seeking an experienced Bankruptcy Associate to join a growing team handling sophisticated Chapter 11 proceedings out-of-court restructurings and complex insolvency matters. This role is ideal for a seasoned restructuring attorney who values meaningful responsibility direct partner interaction and long-term professional stability within a supportive firm environment. Responsibilities Represent debtors creditors and other stakeholders in Chapter 11 proceedings out-of-court restructurings and insolvency-related matters while managing cases through all phases of representation with accuracy and efficiency Prepare and draft pleadings motions memoranda and court filings while appearing in hearings and status conferences as appropriate Conduct legal research and analysis on complex bankruptcy and restructuring issues and assist in developing and executing case strategy in coordination with partners Engage with clients financial advisors creditors lenders and other stakeholders throughout the full lifecycle of each matter including supporting negotiations and creditor/debtor-side representations Qualifications JD from an accredited law school with active bar admission in good standing in the relevant jurisdiction 3+ years of experience in bankruptcy and restructuring matters with demonstrated exposure to Chapter 11 proceedings including creditor and/or debtor-side representations Strong organizational communication and time management skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced high-volume environment Superior legal writing analytical and advocacy skills with the ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines independently and collaboratively Join Us This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced bankruptcy attorney seeking sophisticated restructuring work, mentorship and long-term stability.
