Job Description
Role Summary The Bar Manager is responsible for overseeing all bar operations across the restaurant and lounge, ensuring exceptional guest experience, operational excellence, and full compliance with Amazónico standards. This role requires a hands-on leader who is present during service, knowledgeable in beverages, and committed to service, safety, and profitability. General Responsibilities Support the smooth operation of the restaurant and lounge, ensuring all guests receive the highest level of service, care, and product knowledge in line with Amazónico standards. Act as a team player at all times, maintaining flexibility to support operational efficiency and profitability. Maintain thorough knowledge of the beverage menu, including cocktails, spirits, wine, and non-alcoholic offerings, as well as a strong understanding of the food and dessert menus. Be present and hands-on during service, actively managing the bar floor and guest experience. Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests, concerns, and special needs. Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety at all times, in compliance with all health and safety regulations. Understand and adhere to company policies related to fire safety, emergency procedures, and security protocols. Departmental Responsibilities Ensure drinks are prepared and delivered accurately, efficiently, and to Amazónico quality standards. Enforce responsible alcohol service at all times in accordance with local laws and company policy. Maintain a strong service focus with a continuous drive to improve standards and consistency. Ensure all cleaning schedules and checklists are followed and maintained. Oversee liquor stock levels, bar supplies, and ordering procedures, ensuring accurate inventory management and responsible handling of deliveries. Support operations across other departments or company venues as needed. Operational & Leadership Responsibilities Prepare and oversee daily mise en place and ensure the bar is fully set up prior to service. Ensure all bar and preparation areas are cleaned and reset at the end of each shift. Oversee proper cleaning and handling of all glassware and bar equipment. Supervise preparation of hot and cold beverages according to standards. Handle guest complaints and inquiries professionally, escalating when necessary. Coordinate and actively participate in weekly inventories. Conduct and lead weekly staff trainings focused on product knowledge, service standards, and compliance. Ensure accurate cash handling and strict adherence to banking and cash-control procedures. Manage staff rotas to ensure appropriate coverage at all times and consistent service delivery. Support the development and evolution of beverage menus in collaboration with leadership. Complete and submit all required daily and weekly operational reports in a timely and effective manner. Qualifications & Skills Proven experience as a Bar Manager or in a senior bar leadership role in a high-volume, high-end hospitality environment. Strong knowledge of spirits, cocktails, wine, and bar operations. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Strong understanding of responsible alcohol service and compliance standards. Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Hands-on, detail-oriented, and service-driven leadership style.
