Job Summary Join our team in the oldest independently owed coffee house in Hampton Roads as a Barista, where your energy and passion for coffee will create memorable experiences for every guest. In this dynamic role, you'll craft delicious beverages, deliver exceptional customer service, and ensure smooth café operations. Whether you're serving up specialty drinks or managing POS systems, your contributions will be vital to our lively community space. Duties Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks with precision and flair Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS to process transactions efficiently and accurately Engage with customers warmly, providing excellent service and addressing their needs promptly Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards in food preparation and handling areas Manage cash handling responsibilities, including cashiering and basic retail math for transactions Assist in food preparation and food service tasks to support overall café operations Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure quick service without compromising quality Requirements Prior experience as a Barista or in the food industry, with knowledge of coffee preparation and serving techniques preferred but not required. Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude and excellent communication abilities Ability to handle cash handling, cashiering, and retail math accurately in fast-paced environments Knowledge of food safety practices, food handling, and basic math skills for daily operations Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy hours Previous experience in food preparation, serving, or café environments is preferred Join us to bring your passion for coffee and customer care into a lively setting where every day offers new opportunities to delight guests!
