BARN ATTENDANT Job Title:Barn Attendant Job Type:Part-Time or Full-Time for the right candidate, FRI, SAT, SUN 7 AM - 5 PM.Compensation:$16/hr, with a $2/hour weekend differential.$2/hour job coaching differential (non-exempt) Reports to:Barn Supervisor Goals:Affinity Ranch's mission is to enhance the lives of individuals with differing abilities by fostering skill development, self-confidence, and a strong sense of belonging through equine and animal-assisted therapies, recreational activities, vocational training, and mental health support.For our Barn Team, this means working cooperatively with the team of Barn Attendants, Barn Manager, Supported Employees, Equine Manager, Therapists/Instructors, and Volunteers.The primary objective of the barn attendant job is to provide consistent, quality care to our Program's therapy animals, who work as partners in the development and healing of our Program participants.You may also be tasked with providing supervision and coaching to some of our supported employees who work in the barn.Duties:? Equine/Goat/Chicken/Rabbit/Cat Care- clean enclosures, provide feed, supplements, and medicine as directed by the Equine Manager and/or Barn Supervisor, provide water at all times.? Keep the Ranch tidy.This can mean making Ranch repairs or working on Ranch projects, as well as daily clean-up.? Drive the gator to dump manure.Use wheelbarrows when gators are not available.? Drive tractor, if prior experience with tractors and training provided.Tractor experience STRONGLY PREFFERED Help bring in horses, groom and tack for lessons, support volunteers in grooming, tacking horses.EQUINE EXPERIENCE STRONGLY PREFERRED! ? Inform Barn Supervisor and co-workers of issues or emergencies.Pass along Apply to Jewels@affinityranch.orgwith the subject Barn Attendant ? Communicate openly and proactively with all Affinity Ranch team members.Check Slack often while working, especially before your next shift, and email at least twice per week.? Instruct and supervise volunteers who sign up to assist with Barn Chores.? Be willing to sub if needed.Requirements:? Ability to lift and transport up to 60 pounds ? Reliable transportation ? Excellent problem-solving skills, communication, and interpersonal skills ? Ability to self-direct, work independently, and as part of a team ? Indoor and outdoor work in all environments, including inclement weather ? Walking between work sites ?
