J Job Description: Barn & Farm Team Member At Storybook Farm, animals and nature help children build confidence, strengthen skills, and experience joyful hands-on learning. We’re looking for a dependable, hardworking, positive team member to help care for our farm, animals, and grounds while supporting the daily operations that make Storybook special for thousands of children each year. Previous experience with large animals is a bonus, but not a dealbreaker. We're happy to train you! This is a great fit for someone who: enjoys working outdoors loves animals likes staying active and busy works well with others takes pride in caring for beautiful spaces enjoys meaningful work with purpose behind it Position Details Hours: Part-time (20 - 30 hours per week), year-round. Weekend work. Title: Farm Assistant. Reports to: Executive Director Starting at $13/hour Responsibilities May Include Feeding and caring for horses and other animals Cleaning stalls and barn areas General farm and grounds upkeep Lawn and landscape support Assisting with setup for programs and events Helping maintain a safe, welcoming environment Working alongside staff, volunteers, and Auburn students Ideal Qualities Dependable and punctual Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather Positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed Able to lift, carry, and stay physically active Horse or farm experience is helpful, but not required Comfortable interacting with people in a friendly, professional way Why People Love Working Here At Storybook Farm, no two days look the same.
